I was able to carry out this project on a real test vehicle with the help of Continental AG in Babenhausen.

I animated a few use cases for AR-HUD Displays in Cinema4D and developed further a tool using Unreal Engine 4 that could help me investigate the depth cue „texture gradient“.
The tool helped me to scale, tilt, and transform Geometry and textures in realtime.
Continental AG made demands on the functionality of the program. Below there is a short overview about the UI and some functions.
The ui was developed only for testing purposes and not for the driver.
The question is whether an improved depth perception in the AR HUD of a car can be achieved with the help of the depth hint texture gradient.
